Biography

Patrick Schueffel is professor at Fribourg’s School of Management Fribourg in Switzerland and the school’s Liaison Officer in Singapore. His research focus is on Banking, Finance and Entrepreneurship. He has published on these topics widely in international scientific journals as well as practitioner outlets. Next to his academic role Patrick Schueffel works as an advisor in the Swiss and Singaporean Crypto ecosystems. Before his move to Singapore he worked for many years in Banking in Zurich/Switzerland, for instance as the Chief Operating Officer of Saxo Bank (Switzerland) where he was responsible for Operations and IT. Preceding to that Patrick Schueffel was a member of the Senior Management at Credit Suisse’ headquarters in Zurich/Switzerland. He holds a doctorate degree from the University of Reading/UK and postgraduate degrees from Henley Business School/UK, the Norwegian School of Economics/Norway, and the University of Mannheim/Germany.

 

This talk provides an introduction and overview to the topic of “Asset Tokenization”. It explains why Asset Tokenization can help to unlock massive values on a global scale by democratizing investment processes in the capital markets. It highlights the significance of these concepts by drawing historical parallels.
